Brushless magnetic motors are increasingly being used to replace traditional motors due to improvements in efficiency, costs and performance. However, the new alloys required for brushless motors are more limited in manufacturing options when it comes to the bonding process to secure the magnets in place. Epoxy potting routes can be time consuming and expensive, and PET film alone does not secure in place with sufficient strength.
Lamina’s epoxy heat-shrink tube combines the bonding strength of epoxies with the heat shrink capabilities of Plamar. For fixing electric magnets in place for motor applications the Plamar heat-shrink material brings the epoxy layer into intimate contact with the magnets. This is then cured giving a much stronger structural material than can be achieved by Plamar alone, as well as securing in place with a permanent bond.
