The polyimide films with which we work are uniquely suited to use in radiologically harsh environments: they retain their dielectric and mechanical properties when exposed to extremes of heat and radiation.
Our track record includes the manufacture of nearly thirty kilometres of custom-developed polyimide ‘straws’ for use in particle detection at the ATLAS Transition Radiation Tracker (TRT) at CERN. Working to a tolerance of just 15 microns Lamina Dielectrics manufactured the tubes from two thin strips of polyimide film coated with aluminium, graphite and polyurethane.
